Good question. If the Universe is infinite, then we are probably not alone. But life need really rare conditions to appear, and even more so for intelligent life so it is not sure we will find more than very small lifeforms in a long time. If we actually find any.

I doubt we are alone. The Universe is vast & if I were a betting person I would think there are other forms of life out there -somewhere!

Enrico Fermi, an Italian scientist who helped develop the atomic bomb, developed a theory that we are alone in the universe, because Earth and our sun are part of a young planetary system compared to the rest of the universe, and we can guess that interstellar travel might be fairly easy to achieve. So if these are both true, then aliens or other life should have already visited Earth. And if they do exist, why have they not visited us? Another scientist has come up with the following four points to explain, why aliens have not visited IF they do exist:
) Aliens never came because of a physical difficulty that makes space travel infeasible, which could be related to astronomy, biology or engineering.
      2) Aliens chose not to come to Earth.
      3) Our advanced world, with humans today was created too recently for aliens to reach us, as they are light years away.
      4) Aliens have visited Earth in the past, but we have not seen them.

So what do you think? Are we alone in the universe?
