      You can split water molecules by a method called electrolysis. It uses electricity to transform water in two gases, hydrogen and oxygen.

      So water can be split using eletrolysis, using electricity. Photosynthesis, so converting suns light into energy, like in plants, also splits water molecules. A form of electrolysis, called artificial photosynthesis or solar panels, also creates energy by splitting water molecules in the process. Thermolysis, splits water molecules by using very hot temperatures to break the strong bonds between oxygen and hydrogen. There are also nuclear methods and radioactive methods of splitting water, but I think they are mainly used in research
