Personally I think all single-use plastics should be banned… some countries have already banned some single-use plastics (112 countries have banned certain single-use plastics). There are lots of alternatives for so we don’t really need them, they are just convenient. They are bad for the environment because they are not biodegradable, so they don’t break down. That means they pile up, creating a HUGE amount of waste (8 million tons). This waste ends up in landfills or blocks up our waterways, oceans, seas, and pollutes them all. The plastic can break down into smaller particles (but it doesn’t break down completely) and releases toxic chemicals that are not good for our soils, water or for wildlife. There are lots of scientists, researchers, and engineers that are working on finding solutions for the plastics problem though đŸ™‚
