• Question: What tests do you carry out on water?

      I measure the water level, electrical conductivity, temperature, turbidity, as well as some stable isotopes on water samples that I took.

      well we do lots of chemical tests like pH to see if the water is hard or soft, Turbidity -that’s how cloudy the water is, Conductivity.
      Ammonia nitrate, nitrite & reactive phosphorous-these indicate if a water supply be it a river a lake or groundwater is polluted or not.
      we test for metals like aluminium, copper, manganese & lots & lots of bugs!

      In my job, I test water for the winter vomiting bug, E.coli ( bacteria) and lots of other viruses that cause tummy bugs.

      My work is more computer-based. so I have not carried out any tests on water.
