      I don’t know which country has the worst drinking water but what can I can say is that Ireland & Europe are required to have very high drinking water standards. This is because all drinking water in Ireland must meet the standards outlined in whats called the “Drinking Water Regulations”. These regulations stipulate what amount of iron, aluminium, pesticidies, E. Coli, Total Coliforms etc etc that is allowed in drinking water. If these standards are not met then the water lab must notify the HSE & EPA who will decide if water needs to be boiled (in the case of bugs in the water) or if the water must go through additional treatment before it can be used. If this is the case Irish Water must supply clean water for its customers in the mean time.
